How it works
One file in. A checked, compared and explained schedule out.
Schedule Cracker works from the schedule files your team already produces. Nothing to re-enter and nothing to install: upload each update, and every step below runs on its own.
- 01
Read the file as it was submitted
Primavera P6 XER and XML exports and Microsoft Project files are read in full: activities, logic, calendars, constraints, resources and the dates the scheduler stored. The checks run on those stored dates, the record every party to the project already holds, so a finding describes the schedule that was submitted rather than a re-scheduled version of it. Your file is never changed.
- 02
Check it and grade it
Each update goes through the same rule set as the Schedule Cracker desktop app, and through quality gates such as the DCMA 14-point assessment. The result is one grade for the whole schedule and a list of findings by severity.
- Missing and dangling logic, open ends and out-of-sequence progress
- Hard constraints, high float, long durations and lags
- Every finding opens to the activities behind it
- 03
Compare it with the update before
Every new update is compared with the one before it, and any two can be compared on demand. You see what moved: the projected finish, activities that became critical, logic added or removed, durations and calendars that changed, and float that quietly disappeared.
- 04
Follow the delay, window by window
Between each pair of updates, Schedule Cracker measures how far the projected finish moved and which path of work drove the movement. Read in order, the windows show when the delay happened and where: the contemporaneous, observational approach widely used in delay disputes.
- 05
Assign responsibility, then report
Responsibility for a delay is a judgement, so it stays yours: you set it day by day and can change it at any time. Where delays overlap, the overlap is flagged as candidate concurrency for you to assess. Reports export to PDF, Word and Excel; an AI-written narrative is available on request, and every number in it is checked against the analysis before it is issued.
Questions, answered.
- Which files can I upload?
- Primavera P6 XER and XML exports, and Microsoft Project files.
- Do I need Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project installed?
- No. You upload the exported file and Schedule Cracker reads it; there is nothing to install.
- Does Schedule Cracker change my schedule?
- No. Your file is read, never modified. Where a what-if is needed, such as testing a fragnet, the scheduling engine works on its own copy.
- Is it the same as the desktop app?
- It runs the same rules and shows the same screens: the toolbar, the Files panel and the Dashboard desktop users already know, with every screen exporting to PDF, Word or Excel.
See it on your own schedule.
